Like as I said total hot air as in Japan saying might go with tempest program ,it's so a non story I don't know why people are even reporting it ,it's going to be with the Americans end ov , doesn't mean we aren't going too hear stories for ages then by surprise they announce they going with America...

The only reason I said 2 MTRS wider was because I Def remember captain j Kyd at the time in an interview on the bridge just as about to leave the builders and going to squeeze thru with inches to spare said it was tight with a vessel was 75mtrs wide ,but as we know we is 73mts wide so I'm just guess...

I don't think Abe has any choice but jump in with trump ,think he will make it too hard for any other possible team ups ,think it was always going to be with the USA tbh and Japan just saying might go with someone else to get a better deal with USA

Well that's another 65k tonnes total to add to the fleet and rn say again in article above quote added by skb that pow is larger and heavier than hmsqe ( v slightly) ,but in all seriousness well done everbody getting this ship to this point ,hats off to you all :-)

Would have thought they would have done a bit of joined up thinking there and launched f35 tomorrow when TV cameras and hmsplws being commissioned with press there also ,well done nowt like prior preparation and planning lol

Just a very quick one but do folks think that we will end up with a trieste type lpd /LHD someday ,just been looking at its Trieste a handsome ship for sure ,the Italians should be rightly proud ,was kind of hoping we would get one one day also , replacement for Albion/bulwark

Problem roders96 time and aspersions of crew accomodation has moved on and they don't want to be packed in 500 to a shoebox so more room needed for crew and less for hangar space I quess

Suppose after leaving space for internal lift aircraft movements and center lift in middle of carrier instead of deck edge lifts their prob wouldn't be much in it even tho slightly bigger area in ark royal floor area skb , guess why they not repeated 2 hangar design again

I wonder if we ever get to find out the true length , width and weight of hmsplws and by how much difference between the 2 of class .it might only be as low as 25 mm in the length or width and that could class as slightly longer and wider .hope it's not too much of a critical secret and you would ha...

Just been looking on ukdefence journal and a pic of c de q carrier and 2 qe class ships ,is that the right scale next too each other? it's just that qe is only 20mts longer and a f35 is about 15mts ish ,so if a f35 stuck on end of c de q carrier and a fraction more for 20mts ,it just seems longer ? ...
