Re: Dreadnought Class SSBN
I'm aware of all the arguments and I'm in favour of the nuke boats. But maybe, just maybe it's time to look at alternatives (God I hate sounding like a Lib Dem). That has already been done back in 2013 and came to the conclusion that the current posture was the sweet spot of cost, capability and cr...

There is a video of the Tu-95 crash here:
Looks really nasty. From what I've heard two killed and five in varying conditions in hospital.

I think you're potentially reading a bit too literally there. Because the way it's worded could equally mean a modified T26 design not necessarily a brand new from the keel up design.

Again fleets within fleets, what happens when AMRAAM is no longer available? Or do you suggest another "small" investment in a weapon that only has one user? But surely AMRAAM isn't going to become unavailable until after we could potentially thrash the T1s to death on QRA or similar some...

It wouldnt surprise that after some time the U.S. marines find merit in the ski jump for their own vessels after spending time on the Queen Elizabeth class carriers I'm sure they're already aware of that. I believe whenever Marine pilots deployed on the Invincible's from time to time they always co...

Our jets should compliment each other very well, one has stealth where the other doesn't, one is fast and hyper manoeuvrable where the other isn't, and I guess many more synergies will be developed once they get use to operating both. I actually think that's one of the more exiting things coming in...

Which ones? The time pressure on tanker programme was from the single hull issue (won't be allowed in many ports), and of course from obsolescence and diminutive capacity relative to what the CVFs will need... with all their escorts "in tow". Have we laid up some, prior to the delivery of...

Don't know why we have anything to do with the Indians TBH, their chippy, post colonial attitude means they won't buy anything off us. There's also the matter of the INF treaty from the 80s to deal with. Well the Russians appear to have already potentially given up on the INF. The latest versions of the Iskander missile reportedly have a range in excess of the 500km maximum. Does the U.K have anti ballistic missile capabilities th...

Is there a reason why JASDF chose E2s rather than E3s when they wanted an AWACS? Cost perhaps (either procurement or operational or both even)?
