Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

However even with 2 x F35 squadrons on board does this represent full operational readiness? Surely to be fully trained and operational we need to see QE train and deploy with 3 squadrons on board and a full complement of 1,600 crew? Is it necessary and when will it happen? 2 squadrons acheive full...

Take a look at this from Euronaval 18. This is very different to the CGI we saw before. Forward, middle and rear cells. Looks like there is still a Harpoon space, although pretty tight. No boat bays?

Re: Royal Navy - Standing Commitments

More ships deployed is good. But, I personally think it is just reflecting the "lack of escorts" early this year. So the crew and ship took rest, and now they can go anywhere As is expected, crew retention is more important at the moment, and the escort force is trying to align itself wit...

The crew rotation, will it work well or not is the key points. I read that crew rotation will be around 4-6 months. This will be great for personnel retention, rather than 9 months away, they will do four and get to come home to see their families with some certainty. I am interested to know how th...

A very good image showing the current activities of the Royal Navy. With Montrose leaving on Monday for the Gulf, that will be 7 escorts deployed outside of UK waters, with another two active within UK waters.
