Just a thought but I wonder if the RN have ever considered converting one of the vanguards Into something similar to the Ohio class by removing the nukes and replacing with 100 plus TLAM and a special forces pod, I'm sure we could still have one vanguard continuely at sea and then one guided missile...

Does anybody know how many Royal Marines will be permanently stationed on the carriers as part of the crew, was wondering as manning levels and cuts to the Royal Marines in the last few weeks announced.
