Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

No way an innocent mistake. Spent three years with a personally allocated MT Car. Absolutely zero personal use allowed and they are all tracked by GPS. CSs combed the paperwork for inaccuracies. I don't know the guy, and have no bone in the fight, but it smacks to me of he thought he was above the r...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)

Badge is irrelevant. All aircrew and Sqns train to the same standard and same competencies and will deploy the same.

But lets not let facts or reality get in the way of the internet experts.

What standards mate? Genuinely interested in what you mean, or is it just more spineless sniping?

Cottesmore is fully army-fied.

There are no plans to base Typhoons anywhere else than Con/Lossie. End of.

This shit makes me laugh.

Pure fantasy, there aren’t enough maintenance staff nor pilots for this pipe dream. Can barely find manning for 12 Sqn as it is.

Jokers.

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)

I would remind people that this thread is only for the UK's F-35B aircraft. This thread is in the UK Equipment section. If you have international news of the F-35A/B/C, please use the international threads. Thankyou. I would remind you that you are not a mod. But that would be pointless because you...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

@Sunk at Narvik How is the UK going to operate double the aircraft with the same ground crew? (are they still called ground crew ion a carrier?) Aircraft Handler is the closest to ground crew in the FAA I guess, obviously they have other roles assigned such as Air controllers and Air engineers. Air...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

Why would the marines bring their own support crew? I thought the whole point of "interoperability" is that a US F35 can touch down on an RN carrier, get its windscreen wiped and top up without having to redeploy dozens of blokes from its own carrier. There is a load of difference between...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

I think people are reading too much into those numbers in the article and put their own answers to get a conclusion they favour. The 72 number is the ships theoretical maximum in terms of ship design for things like refuelling ammo loads etc. The number of F35 sorties will be another number entirel...

Pretty sure both QRA jets will always be armed.
