Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

Bro, I'd love to be wrong, but I doubt we'll see 24 UK F35 on board. I'm sure we'll see 24 on her, but I expect that will include US airframes. I'd be surprised/happy if we'd only meed them to contribute 8, and we can pony up 16 of our own... STDE24 will also be another step in the journey towards ...

Re: River Class (OPV) (RN)

I was talking about CAMM, I don't t think they'll have 12 CAMM. More likely 24. When (or if) they get MK41, it will be 16 at best, and maybe only 8

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

Sadly, I fear with the current Government (and any future Labour Gpvernment), even this won't move the dial beyond some token words. No long term increases im defence spending or better management of defence spending

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

I think if that’s the level of ambition for such a ship I see next to no role in the RN for it beyond possible the replace the three rivers in uk waters. Yet more nonsense. With its range / endurance, efficiency, ability to launch large rhibs/USVs through its dual stern ramp, ability to accommodate...

Re: Wave Class Tanker (RFA)

Should sell them and get extra Tide on order. Should crew them and use them. Crew them with? As I have said before we need to look outside the box maybe we ask the Baltic states to find 320 staff between them the Wave's could then be manned on a 1.5 scale and become NATO Tankers operating from the ...

the 3rd, 5th/6th and 8th/9th largest economies, with massive defence budgets and highly skilled defence industries, can do it if they want to. They certainly don't need 2-3 more G20 economies to make the numbers add up

CAMM-MR dual mounted in Mk.41 VLS https://imgur.com/AXE1Qmb Has this been confirmed ? I’m surprised it’ll be so much larger in diameter than CAMM and CAMM-ER, do we know it’s confirmed diameter ? Has its range been confirmed yet either ? Why 2 and not 4? Whilst this does sound great, does it mean t...

Re: Franco-German-Spanish FCAS/SCAF Programme News and Discussion

https://www.defense-aerospace.com/signs-point-to-germany-and-airbus-being-eased-out-of-scaf/ Sadly we could see Germany leverage their way into Tempest by offering to cease blocking the second order of Typhoons for Suadi Arabia. That would be quite tempting for HMG, but they should steer well clear...
